Sweet December 14 births to celebrate

Today we celebrate two of the sweetest people ever to grace the earth - my mom and darling Emma Bell Goldschmid!

Earlier this week we celebrated our little Emma as she turned big-deal one. She is a little explorer, loves to watch the big kids and observe.

Missy brought Sprinkles cupcakes (far and away the BEST cupcakes in the DC area, way better than Georgetown Cupcakes and their self-promoting show!). Their GF red velvet are phenomenal. Emma was dainty in her dabbling, one finger at a time licking the icing.

The whole gang. No doubt we were all meant to be friends - big kids and babies all 6 months apart!

Emma, Eliza, Quentin, Annabelle, Isaac, Cate, Luke and Sadie.

We also exchanged ornaments, which the kids just loved. It was such fun, and they'll remember years from now as they put their ornaments on the tree each year that their little buddies gave to them.

The big kids surprised us by hiding in the basket in the playroom. They got quite a chuckle out of their creativity - they popped out and just laughed like crazy! Fast forward 10 years they'll be headed to high school - gasp! What will they be like? I just hope, hope, hope they will still always watch each other's back. Loyal friends who love you are what life is all about! If we could teach them just that, it would be a huge accomplishment as a mom.
