Are we ready to share a wonderful day? Those are two lines from one of my favorite collection of books - the Good Night Series (our library is filled with D.C, Virginia, Maine, Oregon, Hawaii, and California). They are so sweet... and fitting, as Hawaii was our post-Christmas in Wisconsin trip with Dan's family.
And did our beach babies ever love the paradise that is Hawaii.... the beautiful breeze, hypnotic waves, omnipresent sunshine... every moment was such a gift!
Sadie loved the beach! She especially loved watching her sweet cousin Nora who has five months on her (and a little munchkin wandering around on foot) explore and taste the sand.
Sadie's little hat was mine and my sister's as a baby. I loved thinking of her as me and my sister when we were babies, and our mom enjoying all the things we are now.
Luke of course found "big rocks" to throw - Grandpa and Daddy took him down to the rock beach and he threw for hours - it was one of his favorite things to do, along with playing with his cool cousins and finding monster trucks!
Sadie loves her Grandpa!
Aloha sweet baby girl. Have you ever smelled a plumeria flower? It is about the most exquisite scent I've ever experienced!
Our 4-some on the rock-throwing beach near our condo.
Silly monkey cousins Sophie, Gavin and Cole.
The gang minus me and Courtney at the condo. Waking up to this awesome view every morning and sleeping with windows open to the crashing of the waves.... how very lucky we felt.
Sadie loved the pool! She kicked her legs and happily stayed in the pool until it was time for her nap - a little fish she is! Now if only I can convince myself to tip toe into the Chinquapin indoor pool for some swim time with her.
All the kids with Grandma in the hot tub - they all loved the "warm pool!" And their Grandma!
Breathtaking sunsets every night.
Luke and his beloved Grandma!
Dan and I paddle boarded for the first time. It was awesome. A great core workout. Not pictured - our kayaking excursion, which included a nice leisurely kayak to the beach near our condo - sea turtles swimming right up to our kayak! Also included a not so leisurely kayak trip back to the rental beach - 3.5 miles against the winds into 4 to 8 foot waves! An adventure!
Luke and Cole - two peas in a pod.
So tired!
Sadie and Grandma - Sadie wearing a little gem of a bikini my mom saved from when my sister and I were little!
Cousins digging to China!
Monster trucks!!! All over Paia, where we stopped to admire the HUGE waves! No surfers during our stop, takes your breath away.
The girls! Aunt Coco, Sophia, Nora, me and Sades.
Horsing around after dinner with the cousins.
Sweet little Sadie and me on the beach.
Grandma and Grandpa with all the kids!
And the Virginia-based Roehls.
Mahalo, Grandma and Grandpa, for marvelous adventure!!! We love you!
