Luke and mom ventured into D.C. with our friends Katie and Belle today for "tourist tuesday." We tried to first visit the National Archives, but despite our self-titled adventure, decided against waiting in line for two hours with all the tourists... so we headed to the Tidal Basin to visit Thomas Jefferson and the cherry trees. They were gorgeous! We had a picnic lunch... Luke and his girlfriend kicked back in the grass and oogled at each other and the blossoms.
A tired baby.... fell asleep, so did Belle, on the way to the metro so we decided to walk and walk and walk. Wandered to Georgetown via busy Constitution Ave (almost got toppled by a taxi and funeral procession), and Rock Creek... landed at Tony and Joe's for margaritas and sunshine. Shhh... it was 3:30 in the afternoon. Then headed to the Rosslyn metro through Georgetown. Must have walked 10 miles! We had a ball with our friends. A great day to live in DC.
