Rudolph the red nosed Luke

"The first fall of snow is not only an event, but it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up to find yourself in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment, then where is it to be found?" - J.B. Priestley, novelist and playwright

Ah, well, we didn't wake up to snow, but come 11 a.m. it was a fallin'! And it was, indeed, enchanting.

Luke may not remember us putting him in his enormously padded snow suit in Wisconsin on a snow bank last year when he was 5 months old, but surely he was enchanted by the snow fall yesterday.

Today we took him to a playground and he crunched all over the snow in his fancy new shoes. Here he is by his favorite new gig - the slide - where the snow already melted.

Snow angels... dilemma of the day... do we need snow pants and moon boots? This may be the only snow we see all year here, but Wisconsin for 10 days in December? Um, yes. Maybe I can rent them...

Playing with Daddy...

Preferring to play in the snow than pose with me.

And running! I did not capture the face-plant he took moments after this photo. Scratched up the nose... our little rudolph.
