We hosted our 2nd annual Cherry Blossom Bonanza as Grandpa Jimbo and Paula visited from Wisconsin. Gorgeous weather and spot on timing of the blossoms.
We ventured to the Tidal Basin on Friday, and then to the National Arboretum on Saturday. It should be illegal to have never visited the Arboretum (although I once tried to take my brother when Luke was a baby, but we got lost, stuck in traffic, lost again, and gave up after a bout with serious road rage) - it is breathtaking and I plan on going back all throughout the summer (with specific directions) to see the latest flowers, shrubs and trees in bloom.
Checking out the koi fish pond.
With trusted walking stick at the top of the hill.
Beautiful trees everywhere.
Chilling with Paula and Jimbo.
Back home for a walk to one of Luke's many haunts equipped with swings, slides, and dirt.
And for our regular visit to the Fish Market in Old Town for beers as big as your head.
Always a good time with these old geezers (ok, really only one, as Paula is as young as they come for being almost Medicare eligible!). Lots of wine, cheese, and repetitive, uber-detailed stories by the old man who we love and adore (but we refuse to stroke the ego with adorable, Jim).
