Happy Fourth, etc!

Love, love, love Wisconsin in the summertime. We spent our time cruising back and forth the 3.7 miles between Dan's house and my dad's new house. Being on the lake sure beats hot, sticky, land-locked D.C. Luke is on the move claiming the title of "e"-boy from my brother, who was a little lost in la-la land after returning from India with a bit more than a new yoga pose. Cipro will hopefully do the trick.

Luke loved our boat ride with grandparents, Uncle Josh, Miles and Jodi, forming a band with his cousins, playing with his bff Elizabeth in Chicago, chilling on my dad's porch, and splashing in the dogs' water bowls. Dan and I enjoyed all of the above, including eating (and surviving) the top of our wedding cake nearly 6 years later.

He we are... a boat ride with the gang... me and Dan, my dad, Paula, dan's parents, Josh, Miles and Jodi. We miss you Auntie Lis and Uncle Matt!

Grandpa and Luke driving the boat on Sunday.... a relaxing day after the Fourth of July party circuit.

Pool time on the evening of the Fourth at Paula's daughter Shawn's house. Daddy is inside inhaling Shawn's husband Mike's ridiculously amazing BBQ ribs.

Tip-toeing in the pool with help from Paula.

Drinking Miles' miller lite at Uncle Mike's Fourth of July party.

Cousin Sophie teaching Luke the ways of the world.

Luke and Grandpa taking in the view.

Happy Fourth with cousins!

First and favorite pastime... boat ride on Oconomowoc Lake.

Luke and Grandma hanging out.

Luke and Grandpa chatting about life.

Daddy showing off on the wave runner!

Back to Grandma Jimbo's house... Cubs (rarely) win!!!

Uncle Josh brought back this adorable knit hat from India. Knit hat in the summer time is such a fashion statement.

A little "chartreuse" at the end of an evening.... a treat my dad and Paula brought back from their trip to France. Strong, yes, but did it really warrant this freakish face?

After nearly 6 years and 6 freezers, we finally ate the top of our wedding cake. We all survived and it was just as we remembered it (in our hotel room at midnight).

Swaying on the porch at my dad's house.

Luke and Grandpa Jimbo conversing wicker to wicker.

Fastforward 14 years.... he'll be a pro at decorating the trees.

The Roehl 5... they might need a little (lot) more practice, but they're a cute bunch.

Luke visited his 96.5 year old Grandma Honey in Racine.

Bath time!!! Luke visited his BFF Elizabeth in Chicago. Too cute, Em and I could barely stand it. In fact, they were so funny time got away and we didn't open a bottle of wine until after 7:00.. This is extremely rare.

Elizabeth teaching Luke all the important stuff (en espagnol)

Scout loves peas, too.

Luke and Elizabeth hanging out on the front steps. If only, only, only we were neighbors.

Good times in Wisconsin! Back to the heat...
