California has swings, too!

IAD-SFO, 5.5 hours, 30 minutes of L sleep. 5 hours of crawling up and down, and all around mom and dad in a three feet by 12 inch space (thanks, lady, for putting your seat back). A few episodes of our BFF DJ Lance Rock and his Yo Gabba Gabba team helped, along with a window seat with shade that L could lift up, and down, up and down, up and down.... over and over and over.

Hello at last! Palm trees and bouganvilla. Hills and haze. A happy (half shoeless) baby with equally happy parents to be in (somewhat) sunny California.

A trek through the city brought us to The Gables Inn in Sausalito. Wonderful two room apartment-style stay right off the main street in Sausalito. Spectacular view of San Francisco and the bay. Gorgeous. Wine and cheese every evening from 5-7. Starbucks next door. Ain't life grande? Now, if we can just get our little buddy to sleep at night to avoid the evil eye during happy hour.

Living it local through the city playgrounds... like Alta Plaza Playground in the Pacific Heights neighborhood (home of romance novelist Danielle Steele and setting of creepy Michael Keaton early 90s flick of the neighborhood's namesake). Luke met some fun pals at this awesome playground with panoramic views of the city, bay, and the Blue Angels for a modified performance due to major haze. Best of all, California has swings!

High-five for the Blue Angels...

Flying by... amazing to watch.

Nice view!

Met up with friends Kent and Christy for margaritas!

Day 2....

Stinson Beach for lunch at the Parkside Cafe and a walk on the beach... a storm's a comin'...

Wandered the very windy (and wind-y i.e. lots of turns, can't get the spelling right) roads toward the magnificent Muir Woods. Headed up the way to Mill Valley while L was sleeping in the car... stumbled upon adorable baby store, and of course had to make a little detour. When he woke we wandered back down to the Muir Woods and hiked the two mile loop. Perfect time of day to go... (after 3:00, thank you Grandpa Jimbo for the advice). Luke kept leaning his head back to get a better view of the several thousand foot trees - they are unreal. Headed back to the car just before the rain fell.

And the rain rolled in....
