We bounded out of bed early this morning (actually, had to wake Luke up) to make it to the American Red Cross 5K in Old Town. It's a great race, yet even with the 8am start time it was roasting. 84 degrees at 7:15 a.m. when we pulled out of the driveway.
But, what a time! We all ran - they're super stroller and dog friendly, and felt like a million bucks afterwards. Both from the adrenaline and knowing we're helping out a great organization. And here's my shout out for donating blood - it's painless and super easy and can save a life. Pretty "cool," as Luke would say. Here is some info - if you have type O negative (like me) your blood is in ultra demand because it can be transfused to patients with any blood type. All blood types are in great need.
In fact, I'm going this Saturday afternoon to donate at the Fairlington Community Center - if you're up for it, join me!
