Luke "the Truck" Roehl

Today brought about an impromptu visit to the 3rd Annual Truck Touch Show at an RFK Stadium parking lot. The city brought out dozens of trucks, a helicopter, even a police horse. It was quite the site... kids got to climb in the vehicles, pound on the horn, touch the wheels...

Luke was pretty impressed by the sight of it all... if even a little overwhelmed. So much to see! I must toot my own horn, no pun intended, at my impressive knowledge of the formal truck names (i.e. front-end loader), thanks to the large number of truck books we read before bedtime.

The helicopter was one of my personal favorites, taking me back to my good ole days of riding black hawks in California (okay, once, but it is my all-time favorite vehicle, well next to the G-5).

Fire truck ladder - HUGE.

Dan liked the SWAT assault vehicle. He also dug riding the segway, but my pix turned out blurry, perhaps because he was going so fast.

Petting the nice horse, who must have been really hot just standing there all day long.

Checking out another police vehicle.

Dan & Luke posing with the orange garbage truck... perhaps an attempt to re-enact my Dad's past life of driving a Racine garbage truck back in the 60s.

And in a shout out to our Wisconsin roots, the tractor.

Beep, beep, backing up. Good times, cool trucks.
